Choose Account

If you are a new customer applying to open a savings account you need to be 18 or over and live within our operating area (click here to see our operating areas). If you are an existing member you need to be 18 or over but can open an account regardless of your postcode. You are unable to open an account through myaccounts on behalf of another person e.g. as a nominee or an attorney. If you are applying for a joint account please note that the second account holder must also complete the registration process before they can manage the account online. In order to complete your application for a savings account you will need to provide us with your National Insurance Number. Your National Insurance Number can be found on your payslip, P60 or any correspondence from HM Revenue & Customs.

If you are a non tax payer living in the UK we can pay interest on your savings without deducting tax. If you are not sure if you are eligible to receive gross interest, please contact HM Revenue and Customs. You can register for gross interest once your account is opened by sending us an R85 form which can be downloaded from the HMRC website.

Thank you for submitting your savings application!

You will now receive two emails from us.

The first email confirms your application and will include your myaccounts username. Please note your username cannot be changed and will be needed each time you log into myaccounts. The second email will include a link to set up your security details.

The myaccounts team will now process your application and send you a secure message shortly confirming if your application has been successful or if we require further information from you.

Once your account is open you will be sent a secure message with the paying in details to make your opening deposit. Please remember to make a deposit of at least the minimum operating balance required for your account. You will also be sent a verification code by post. On receipt, please log into myaccounts and enter it to activate your online access. You are then ready to manage your account(s) online.

 

 


 

Supporting documentation

Under the Money Laundering Regulations and Financial Services Authority rules, we are required to verify both the name, address and date of birth of investors. To do this, we will ordinarily use an electronic verification system.

For online applications, you will also need to supply a certified copy of a full UK photo driving licence or a valid UK or EU passport, or an original utility bill which is less than 3 months old (not a mobile phone bill).
